The Global Skills Development Campus (GSDC) was established as a strategic response to Japan’s Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) Program, a pioneering initiative addressing labor shortages in key industrial sectors by attracting highly skilled professionals from around the world. GSDC was founded with a clear vision: to create a dynamic platform for the exchange of knowledge, ideas, and expertise, fostering global talent development and professional excellence.
Initially focused on preparing individuals for opportunities under the SSW Program, GSDC has since expanded its scope to meet the growing global demand for skilled professionals across multiple industries. Today, the campus offers specialized training in Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, and language proficiency, equipping students with practical skills, hands-on experience, industry-ready knowledge, and the confidence to thrive and excel in highly competitive international job markets.
Objectives
Since its inception, GSDC has made significant strides in preparing Sri Lankan youth for the global workforce. By focusing on the specific needs of Japan’s labor market, GSDC ensures that its professionals are well-equipped to fill critical roles in sectors experiencing skill shortages.
